Foster a Pet

One of the best ways to help out the Tuscarawas County Humane Society is to enroll in our foster program. As a foster volunteer, you open your home to our rescued animals and take care of them until they can find their forever home. Before our rescued animals are enrolled in the foster program, they are fully vetted to ensure a clean bill of health. We also screen and observe their habits so that we know the animals are house trained, and suitable to be in a home with or without other animals.

The foster program is the most successful program we can use to retrain dogs to lose their fears of certain situations and get along with other animals.

We take great care in choosing the animals that are enrolled in the foster program. We work to develop a working relationship with our foster volunteers so that we can match them with the most compatible animals for their situation.

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please fill out the pet foster form, or contact our shelter at (330) 343-6060. Thank you.
